Weakness I am not able to cope up with stress, and I easily get anxious and depressed, in case I have to handle multiple tasks. Reason of Pursuing the DBA Course: I am willing to pursue the Doctorate of Business Administration, as it will help me in getting a competitive edge, while looking for a job. The completion of the DBA course will largely help me in earning professional competence required for a job. The recruiting authorities are more likely to recruit someone with a doctorate degree, rather than one with a master degree (MBA). Apart from my professional advancement, the completion of the course will also help me in sharpening my research skills, and developing my decision-making abilities. Further, it will also help me to use the knowledge acquired for running my own business, thereby improving my wealth and fortune as well (Mayer, 2016). Goals: I am willing to pursue the degree, because I intend to fulfill a few objectives of my life, as soon as I complete the degree. The first and foremost of them, is that I want to become a member of the research community. I intend to contribute my novel ideas, acquired in the process of my course, to the development of the business research theories. The DBA program will not be just a degree for me, as I intend to consider it more as a mission of acquiring and transmitting my knowledge for future purpose. My next goal is to apply the theoretical knowledge I practical life, and I intend to implement the forecasting in the governments budget process. Apart from this, as soon as I complete the degree, I intend to use my decision-making skills and practical knowledge, for getting myself qualified for senior- level leadership positions (Dubrin, 2015). Strengths and Challenges: I believe that self-confidence and self-discipline are two important personal attributes that will largely help me complete the course with great success. I have already written and submitted various research articles, and that has helped me gain huge confidence in researching on any topic. Self-discipline along with the integrity to the tasks or research assignments at hand can help me in becoming academically as well as professionally successful. I have got impressive and excellent communication skills, which will help me in working on research articles in collaboration with my friends and peers. I also possess great intrapersonal skills, whereby I believe I will be able to employ self-reflection for the purpose of developing innovative ideas (OLeary, 2013). I also believe that my strategic thinking capacity, my leadership skills as well as my entrepreneurial skills will endow me with the creativity and technical understanding that is required for a DBA course. However, I am very i mpatient, and at the same time, I am unable to persevere, in case I encounter failure. However, each of my assignments or research projects, may not turn out to be an immediate success, and I will need to retain composure (Harned, 2015). However, I lose my focus, and feel discouraged if I do not succeed in the first attempt, and this may lead to discontinuation of the DBA course. I cannot face criticism, and any kind of negative feedback de-motivates me. Self-assessment for Overcoming the Challenges: For the successful completion of the degree, I must be able to rectify and overcome the weakness of my character. I will need to develop patience, and for that I have to practice meditation. I will need to focus on the immediate goals and objectives I am working at a time, instead of focusing in the larger picture. With the help of practice I will try to develop my mental strength that will help me to persevere at tough times (Harned, 2015). At the end of each day, I will keep a note of the positive as well as negative feedback I am receiving from others, o that I do not get easily de-motivated, and yet learn from my mistakes. Conclusion: The acquisition of the DBA degree will help me in developing my professional research skills, as a result of which I will be able to solve industry and management problems easily.
